If you haven’t heard already, Coursera recently announced that it was extending its deadline. Because of (actual) popular demand this time. Now, you can enroll in online courses till the 30th of September.

Why Coursera
Coursera provides a rich list of courses that one can enroll in, however, due to the sheer amount of options, people get confused. Therefore, we here at IBA Today have compiled you a well-thought-out list to get you started. Additionally, this will help you complete at least one of the 10 things to do this Quarantine list.
Excel Skills for Business by Macquire University

This is a four-course specialization based on basic and advanced excel skills that one should be aware of. The courses consist of Essential, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2, and Advanced. I myself have completed the first three and need to move on to the last one in order to get my specialization certificate on Coursera.
Pros: Very detailed narration of how to conduct the tasks, provides you basic excel knowledge for you that will eventually be useful to you irrespective of your field.
Cons: MacBook owners will be at a slight disadvantage because they don’t have all of the functions that a Windows excel owner does. Also, it gets monotonous and you may want to smash your head into your laptop after a while.
Marketing in a Digital World by University of Illinois

This was the first course I looked into on Coursera. So I took it super seriously, made notes and everything. It’s a four-week-long course and basically gives you an oversight on the 4 P’s and how they would function in today’s Digital World.
Pros: Very informative, I really liked how the instructor taught. Super relevant for someone who has the slightest interest in marketing.
Cons: Maybe too informative, consists of a few readings, and exercises you have to look into every week. You have to write an essay at the end of every week too. And students love to write essays, right?
Search Engine Optimization by University of California, Davis

If you’re someone who has the slightest interest in content writing and want to improve your skillset, this is the course for you. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is how articles, like those on IBA Today, receive views when someone searches something on the internet. The more views you have the more your website grows.
This is a very important tool for someone to possess. I haven’t started the course yet on Coursera so I won’t provide any pros or cons below. However, the specialization does seem really long, consisting of 5 separate courses and one final project.
Python for Everybody by University of Michigan

Python again is another important skill for someone to acquire going into the corporate world. It does seem impressive on your resume and in interviews. Also, you can fulfill your dreams of being a hacker and writing random codes. Is that how python works? Idk I haven’t started my course yet, but it’s on my Coursera List TM.
The course is also pretty long I guess. Consisting of four separate courses and one final capstone (project).
Other Courses on Coursera

There comes a time when you’re searching for courses and you’re tired of doing courses for the sake of your resume. Therefore, it’s a good option to pursue courses you can’t pursue at IBA. Courses on democracy, war, psychology, languages, the possibilities are endless.
In fact, there is even a course that talks about the Science of Well Being. Where will you find this course again? Take these opportunities. Take these courses. The choice of whether you want to take it super seriously or not is up to you. Explore and learn, the best time is now. So log into your Coursera profile and get started!

Informative read!
Thank you!
I completed 2 specializations in Project Management by University of California, Irvine. They were really good and practical.
Also completed a specialization in Strategic Management and Innovation by Copenhagen Business School. They had a very practical approach with case study analysis.
Thank you for your input! Appreciate it.
