Reading Time : 2 minutes

It is almost mid-semester, and it is the crazy time of the year where we are all under loads of pressure and work. There are numerous assignments, countless projects, and oh the never-ending quizzes! Every week adds to a different kind of stress. It is like we students are on a roller-coaster that keeps going up and down giving us crazy bumps.

But what is the most important thing to do during these stressful times?

Along with getting submissions on time, we need to take a break and give some attention to our mental health. If we do not do this in these stressful times, none of our hard work will be of any use.

So, sit back, and take a break from stress this weekend!

One thing you can do is binge-watch some of your favorite shows.

Next, step outside of the house and get some fresh air. Even walking around in the garden will give your mind some rest.

Last, but not the least, meditate!

When you meditate, you not only reduce stress but also uniquely embrace peace. These 10 to 15 minutes of peace help you calm yourself, clear your mind, create self-awareness, and promote happiness! Magic, right? How does this work though? When you meditate, the part of your brain which is responsible for emotions and is self-conscious goes offline. The part which deals in bringing external information to your brain slows down too. Moreover, the structure of your brain that helps you stay alert too reduces its frequency. All of this happens in a matter of few minutes but shows impeccable results later!

But what after this break from stress?

Unfortunately, the stressful roller-coaster we are in continues. Soon Monday arrives and we are struck with another bundle of stress!

However, what we can do for ourselves is to re-shape different perspectives of life after these breaks. Learn a new song from the movie you watched or make a new friend while you were on a walk. Use these new ideas to shape a fresh perspective. Look at the bad grade you got as a chance to improve. Look at the new assignment as a chance to learn something new. Look at those painful 8:30 am classes as a chance to witness sunrise. And most importantly, look at yourself as an individual who is just exploring life.
