Among the countless events happening at IBA, seldom does one notice launches of different student bodies. But a fortnight past, the grandeur of Gala’22 caught my eye. An event that carried a bit of everything; different stalls, an entrepreneurial competition called Ignite, games, a qawwali night and even a little bit of unexpected rain. Their stalls the most prominent on the day.
The Entrepreneurs
With their maxim of promoting entrepreneurship, IBA Entrepreneurship Society lived up to its name. The advent of new student businesses was clear from the various stalls, numbering at least 22 in total.
“Our products already have taste and quality, events such as these offer us a marketing opportunity where we can promote our business to a wider audience at one time and place”, said Syed Usama, the co-founder of 322Bakers. Highlighting the importance of such events that promote small-scale businesses by student entrepreneurs.
This brings me to the helm of the event: the entrepreneurs at IBA. And what better way to give them the limelight then to introduce you to their businesses.

An online business run by a first semester student, Bezeltone offers trendy fashion jewelry and scrunchies. Bezeltone has a variety of jewelry, ranging from studs, hoop earrings, statement earrings, to rings, necklaces, and chains.

Don’t we all have sugar cravings sometimes. Or maybe you just want a brownie on a busy day but don’t have time to visit a shop. That’s where 322Bakers Street comes in. An online business that specializes in sweet baked goodness that are brownies.

Tote bags are now a trend, being environmentally friendly and convenient. Run by a mother-daughter duo, Sacoche offers eco-friendly hand-crafted totes.

Artrickss & Sanapaintsthesky, both owned by students of third semester offer mini canvas paintings. They’d be perfect in adding color to your surroundings, whether it be a boring wall or your office cubicle. Their Insta handles worth a visit.
IBA Entrepreneurship Society
Speaking with Ayman, the Manager of IBAES, I had the opportunity of asking the very person who was at the forefront it all her opinion on the importance of such events to new student entrepreneurs at IBA: “Our events aim to promote critical and creative thinking amongst students and urge them to be innovative.”
Ayman outlined that IBAES continues their efforts into the future, bringing more such events and help their fellow students become established entrepreneurs even if it’s one step on their long journeys.
