After being blasted by an article from The Express Tribune, CDC thought the best way to buck up morale was by reminding students how the world looks at you once you have gotten into IBA:
And you know what? It is partially true. Given the precarious nature of the market, the statistics, if believed, are not too shabby. Though we love to lambast people, riddle me this, doesn’t IBA still give you an economic safety net better than other institutions in Karachi? It does, does it not? Now, I am not saying things cannot be better but as they stand, they are not entirely bad because you can make a difference. But, you have to keep on pushing….unless

No.1 – TCF
Known for its genuinely kind and humble objectives, TCF is truly an NGO personified. To keep it short, TCF offers you three social internship opportunities with them through their Alumni Development Program, Summer Camp, and Office Internships. Moreover, do not hesitate in calling CDC as well, they are lovely people and with our recent interaction with them, they look forward to hearing from you guys soon.
No.2 The Aman Foundation
Unlike the notoriously known Aman Building at IBA “jahan bohat sarey loug apney dil ki baat kartey hain”, the Aman Foundation is a not-for-profit trust, based in Karachi, Pakistan, focused on solutions in health and education; if you think I copied that from Wikipedia you are wrong ;). Additionally, here is what is interesting, they have a simple mechanism to apply for a social internship: fill out the form, email, and wait. No.3 Make a Wish Foundation
Unlike the below poorly re-posted meme about the Make-A-Wish foundation, which needs to stop just by the way, the Make-a-wish foundation is a great place to work given its pious objectives.
Moreover, of all the aforementioned organizations, Make-A-Wish, as per our sources, hires a tremendous gentry of volunteers for social internships at their organization which makes the deal all the more sweeter. Click on this link to put a smile on a wonderful kids face to apply.
N0.4 AIESEC
If you want to travel, have fun, meet new people and visit Turkey or Malaysia really cheap whilst acting like you have actively contributed to the community, this is the place for you. Just kidding. AIESEC is an international youth-run, non-governmental and not-for-profit organization that provides young people with countless opportunities including a social internship. Furthermore, the IBA chapter of AIESEC is filled with some extraordinary individuals including my man, the one and only, Imran Khan’s number one fan, Umer Khan – President of AIESEC at IBA. Get in touch with these guys, a whole world awaits you!!
No.5 IHSAN Trust –
Ihsan Trust (IT) is another great place for a social internship. Being one of the larger NGOs in Karachi, they always have vacancies. Additionally, what is even better is that their website suggests to already have 5 openings available for social interns thence, apply away peeps.
Lastly, I know these places are not enough for all of you all looking for a social internship. Thence, here is the link to an excel sheet that the CDC has of all the already approved organizations for social internships. Furthermore, if an organization you want to work for is not registered here, no worries, contact CDC, they will help you solve the issue.
