The month of Ramadan is going on in full swing, blessing us with its divine presence. As Pakistanis, we look forward to this month for spiritual healing, to cherish childhood memories, and treat ourselves to delicious pakoras and samosas. However, halfway through our semesters and Ramadan, we, as students, are struggling to balance our studies, extracurriculars, and personal and spiritual goals.
So, how do we make the most of this sacred time while keeping up with our daily responsibilities?
Keep a Schedule
Start off by maintaining a schedule. It will enable you to dedicate sufficient time to all the essentials on your to-do list. Remember to cut it down to attainable goals and activities. And do not forget to include ample time for sleep, prayers, and breaks. It is ok to take things easy and let the month of Ramadan work its charm.

Moreover, schedule your most important tasks during non-fasting hours when you have the most energy and focus. Similarly, utilize the breaks in-between classes and work from home wisely. You can use them to recharge your energy – go for that nap! After all, sleep during Ramadan hits differently.
And as you sit down to study, break up your sessions into shorter, more manageable periods to avoid burnout.
This Ramadan Be There for Others
Ramadan comes with tremendous opportunities to connect with family, friends, and the wider community. Therefore, make sure to help out in the kitchen during Suhoor and Iftar. Treat your family to delicious new recipes.
Moreover, considering the current economic condition of our country with skyrocketing inflation and inaccessibility to basic Ramadan items, look out for the community if it is within your means. For instance, take your friends and peers along and conduct a Ramadan drive. If that seems a lot, you can always donate to different organizations that benefit from your help. This will bring a sense of fulfillment and purpose to your Ramadan practice.
Lastly, the spirit of Ramadan is best enjoyed with our loved ones. Therefore, do not forget to hold and attend Iftar parties. Your friends are eagerly waiting for an invite!
Embrace the Spirit of Ramadan
It is one of the best times to pursue self-care, spirituality, and personal growth. On this note, observe regular Namaz and try to recite a bit of the Qur’an every day. In addition, remember to partake in Tarawih prayers. And do not forget to participate in acts of kindness and charity. Coming together as part of these activities creates a sense of belonging and community, integral to the spirit of Ramadan.

Moreover, you can view this as an opportunity to cut down on negative habits and cultivate new goals. Ramadan is a time of contemplation. Similar to New Year’s, when we set resolutions to bring positive changes in our lives, reflect on the changes you should incorporate into your routine to bring personal growth.
Conclusion
On the whole, Ramadan is a time for reflection, spiritual growth, and communal connection. You can make the most of this special month by scheduling daily tasks, pursuing personal and spiritual goals, and embracing the joy of the season with those around you.
Once it is gone, we are surely going to miss it. While it is here, let us not forget to cherish it.
