The Messenger’s (pbuh) calm state of mind, optimism, and strong faith in stressful times are evident in his quote,
“Do not grieve; Allah is with us …”
Surah At-Tawbah verse 40
The Messenger (pbuh) said this to comfort his friend Sayyidna Abu Bakr (r.a.) when he was worried that the pagan Meccans would find them in the Cave of Saur. They had detoured to this cave when migrating to Madinah to avoid the Meccans. Such a situation would cause stress to anyone. However, the optimism displayed by the Messenger (pbuh) proves the power of tawakkul, i.e., trusting Allah SWT’s plan.
Three clear lessons can be learned from this event:
Stay calm as the Messenger (pbuh) would

In worrying times, such as losing a job, becoming ill, or studying for an exam, the best choice is tawakkul. When we trust Allah SWT, who is the best of helpers, it’s easier to stay calm and be optimistic. The Messenger (pbuh) exemplified this when he remained composed even though his enemies were close by. Remember that this is how Allah SWT responds to a trusting servant.
“…And Allah sent down His tranquility upon him and supported him with soldiers [i.e., angels] you did not see…”
Surah At-Tawbah verse 40
Offer comfort to loved ones

Even if we’re in a stressful situation, it’s always better to support our loved ones than to ignore them. In such times, we must try to maintain tawakkul like the Messenger (pbuh) did in order to maintain serenity and comfort those important to us. This can lead to increasingly strengthened relationships because by trusting Allah SWT with our personal problems, we keep ourselves from ignoring those of our family and friends. This is the beauty of tawakkul – it strengthens our hearts, minds, and relationships!
Follow the Messenger (pbuh) and be reminded that Allah SWT is near
One effective way to destress – as seen from the Messenger’s (pbuh) quote- is to remember that Allah SWT is here for us.
“…Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.”
Surah Ra’d verse 28

Therefore, in worrying times we can always find ease in the reminder that Allah SWT, the best of planners, is near. He is the Responsive One (Al-Mujeeb), so we must have faith that we will soon be given a way out of our troubles!

We really need such refreshing and reminding articles, we always have to remember that we are nothing without Allah SWT, we have to realise how dua and tawakkul are powerful than anything else to get our affairs easy
Well said! Thank you 🙂
