About time for the ritual that takes place as the end of year approaches.. yeah you guessed it right. I am talking about the conventional new year resolutions bulleted lists titled ‘New year, new me’, that many of us set down every new year’s eve with a resolve to execute every aim that we’re putting down to spend a year better than the past ones.
So this year, let’s aim at fulfilling realistic goals. And mind you, consistent baby steps are the ones that eventually turn into habits. Setting the right goals is key.
Be it dietary, career, fitness or relationship goals that you’re setting, just remember to be specific for each one.
Here are a few good habits that you can take up as your new year’s resolutions and start working on them. Remember, there’s no hard and fast rule associated with any of them. You can totally do these your way but don’t forget consistency is key!
1. Start being grateful this year
A life well-lived is one of gratitude and thankfulness. Appreciate the good things that you come across every day. When remembering positives, don’t forget even the minutest details. Grateful journaling may help in keeping track of all the blessings and will help in having a positive year and gaining a positive approach towards life!

2. Practice mindfulness
Meditation does wonders when it comes to personality development. It improves focus, reduces anxiety and boosts productivity. Moreover, nowadays there are numerous mobile phone apps like Headspace and Calm for practising meditation thus making it easier for so many of us to practice

3. Cut down on screen time
This is probably the hardest for most of us, but too much of media cycle is detrimental for your mental health. Since the world has shifted online, its nearly impossible to go offline for a while. But whenever you have the chance, try to spend time with those around you.

4. Eat healthy
Now, this may be everybody’s new year’s resolution, but again taking baby steps will help you reach your goal. Increase water intake, add a few veggies to your meal and start taking your meal in portions.

5. Learn a new skill this year
Related to your major or not it’s always a good idea to set your hands on a new skill. Learning new skills can help in improving personal and professional life.

6. Put a stop to procrastination
It’s easier to ignore the workload and chill but that won’t bring you any good in the long run. Start to break down your tasks in equal amounts and do them step by step. Working with this technique makes the work a lot more manageable. You can reduce procrastination by switching your mobile phone to aeroplane mode while you work.
These are a few healthy habits listed that will surely have a positive impact on lifestyle. Whichever you pick be sure that you’re consistent!
