On 17th September, 2021, around 2:50 pm, a large crowd of students fathered in front of the Fauji building at IBA Main Campus. Comprising of various different programs, the students had done the unthinkable – they had arranged a protest at IBA. The crowd of students chanted “We want! Justice! We want! Justice! We want! Justice!”. Below are some of the videos that have been circuiting around on social media.
Why you ask at IBA?
This large crowd was protesting against the DC committee and their decision in the case of Mohammad Gibrail. Mohammad Gibrail, who is a 9th semester, BS. Economics student, had put up a Facebook post about a month ago. In this post he had highlighted a troubling issue on 25th August, 2021 that he had witnessed at IBA.

Furthermore, many students backed up Gibrail’s claim in the comment section of the said Facebook post and the story remained a hotly discussed topic across many informal groups of the IBA student body. The DC committee took up the issue this week and ordered Gibrail to appear for a hearing. On Thursday, 16th September, 2021, Gibrail was called in to the Fauji Building for his hearing. Although Gibrail has offically not been charged by the administration, as per our sources, there has been a general discontentment over the issue. This is the second time, this month, students at IBA have shown discontentment towards the institute, the first being the Tents incident.

The story was further taken to social media by Jibran Nisar who tweeted about the protest at IBA. We are still waiting to get an official response from IBA with reference to this developing story. However, we remain anxious to provide our readers with both sides of the story. Continue following us to know further developments that take place in the story.
